Your charts and notes

Ephemeris Lab stores your birth details, charts and notes on your computer. We do not receive or automatically back up your library. The app does not collect usage analytics or automatic crash reports, and does not require an account.

License keys are verified on your computer. A key contains the purchaser’s name so the app can display who it is licensed to; it does not contain the purchaser’s email or payment-card details.

License-status connections

Desktop builds prepared for the commercial release automatically download a public list of withdrawn licenses when connected, normally at most once a day after a successful check. The app compares that list with your license on your computer. These requests do not send your license key, license identifier, name, email address, chart data or notes. The hosting service receives ordinary connection information, such as your IP address and request time. The public list contains license identifiers, not purchaser names or email addresses.

A valid purchased license continues working indefinitely offline. A failed connection does not disable it. The license terms explain what happens when a license has been fully refunded or withdrawn.

Internet connections

Place search and time-zone resolution in the app use local data. Google lookup and online place search are disabled; place queries, selected coordinates and birth times are not sent to a lookup service. Downloading optional planetary data uses an internet connection to the published data provider. Your chart library and notes are not sent to that service.

These services receive ordinary connection information, such as your IP address. Images, backups and other exports are shared only through the services you choose.

This website

This site uses no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare hosts the website and processes connection information to serve and protect it. Its security measures may involve cookies.

When you contact us

Your email address and message are kept so we can reply and continue the conversation. They are not added to a marketing list. Please use fictional or anonymized examples and do not send private client charts, payment-card details or another person’s birth details.

Purchases

This website does not collect payment-card details. Online checkout is not open yet. We are preparing Stripe Managed Payments, where Sold through Link, LLC is merchant of record. Stripe and Link process contact, payment, tax and order information under the Link privacy policy and Stripe privacy policy. We handle product support and license delivery.

To deliver and support a purchased license, we will receive the purchaser’s name, email address, order identifiers, and purchase or refund status. We will use those records for license delivery, support, reconciliation, and fraud or dispute handling. They will not include your chart library, payment-card number, or a record of your app usage.

We plan to use Resend to send purchase and license emails. Resend processes the recipient address, purchaser name, message content, key and license attachment, order reference, download links and delivery information. We retain delivery status such as acceptance, delay, failure, bounce or complaint so missing licenses can be recovered. Automated recovery sends the same license only to the recorded purchase address; email us if you have lost access to that address. These are transactional emails, not marketing messages, with open and click tracking disabled.

Retention and requests

Active-license records are kept to support recovery of perpetual purchases. Accounting, payment, accepted-policy and dispute records may be retained for up to seven years after the transaction or dispute is closed, and longer where a specific legal obligation requires it. Minimal withdrawal and duplicate-issuance identifiers are kept to prevent an invalid license being restored or a refunded purchase being issued again. Routine support correspondence is reviewed for deletion after two years without activity unless it is needed for an active issue, accounting or a dispute.

Checkout and recovery abuse controls use limited connection information. Raw checkout addresses are cleared after one day; recovery limits expire after one day. Email hi@ephemerislab.app to request access, correction or deletion. After verifying the request, we will explain what can be removed and any records we must retain. Deleting recovery records can prevent us from resending your key; it does not expire a valid local license. We cannot change a signed key or copies of an email already saved on your computer. We do not add buyers to a marketing list.
